Dallas, local business driving directions. Help, N bound Central/I-75 has construction, R turn lane?

Have been using Inwood Dr. to Mockingbird, but now have discovered that traffic light closest to SMU takes 3-4-5 cycles to clear. Going from Oak Lawn to Peavy and Garland Roads. Is there an alternate route? Have heard something about Gaston in past, but did not catch details. Central is too stressful for me please.
From my experience, your kind of stuck there. The one downside to dallas would be its ranked number one in allotted time to get to work. The highland park area is the worst as far as traffic goes. One comment I do have is maybe you should head out later. Sometimes a 10 minute early leave will help a ton. When I did this my travel time went down from 30 minutes to 15-20. If you miss the traffic it makes it easier.
